I'm a small Western Hognose breeder out of Gainesville, FL - I also draw stuff.
Heterodon nasicus nasicus or, Western Hognose, snakes are a diurnal North American species with a natural range extending from southern Canada to northern Mexico.
This snake is probably best known for its many harmless defensive tactics which includes hissing, flattening of the body, and feigning death.
These snakes are sexually dimorphic (meaning, males and females exhibit a distinct difference in size), and can vary between 12" and 36". Males are typically smaller than females. And in captivity, hognose snakes can live up to 18 years on average.
